IUC Japanese Language Study Academic-Year Fellowship

CEAS provides special funding to provide 1-2 graduate students with academic-year fellowships (program tuition plus stipend) to attend the 10-month program at the Inter-University Center for Japanese Language Studies in Yokohama. Both U.S. Citizens and international students are eligible to apply. This funding application is separate from application to the IUC program—students must still apply for admission to IUC according to their posted deadlines.
What you will do
Eligibility and Requirements:
Open to currently-registered Stanford graduate students in any school.
To apply, complete the online application form including:
1. Upload of Statement of Purpose. Maximum 2 pages single spaced, describing the benefit of intensive language study to your course of study or future career.
2. Upload Current Unofficial Transcript
3. Request Recommendation Letter. Request one letter from your primary advisor or other faculty member with close knowledge of your interests and abilities via the online system.
4. Request a Langauge Instructor Evaluation. Complete Section 1 of the CEAS evaluation form and provide it to your language instructor for them to fill out and return to CEAS. Language evaluation forms should be emailed or delevered directly to CEAS by the language instructor.
