Established in 2011 as a private institute in collaboration with MIT, Skoltech University is cultivating a new generation of researchers and entrepreneurs, promotes advanced scientific knowledge and fosters innovative technology.
The CREIs are Centers for Research, Education and Innovation established in collaboration with international and Russian Partners.
The CREIs address Critical Challenges in IT, Biomedicine, Energy, Space, Crosscutting Science. They are the key building blocks in the effort to develop a graduate university that combines education, research and innovation seamlessly. CREIs will build capacity of all kinds at Skoltech, and will be designed to have broad impact on Russia.
The program includes the following elements: Data Science Course (optional, 24 contact hours, weeks 1-4), Lab internship (weeks 1-8), Russian language course (96 contact hours, weeks 1-8), and Extra-curricular activities (weeks 1-8).
An intern will be placed at one of these labs. Please indicate your preference on the application form.

Internship Dates: June 24 – August 16, 2019, Monday-Friday, 10.00 am – 5.00 pm
Housing will be provided: Dormitory, Skolkovo Polisad residential apartment complex
Russian language skills are not required. Skoltech will also provide the following:
Visa invitation letter
Transfer from the airport upon arrival
Russian language course
Courses auditing (all courses are held in English)
24/7 support from Skoltech Office
Skoltech has waived the program fee $4,950 for the Stanford students in our program. Stanford Global Studies will award the selected intern $2,000 to cover airfare and other expenses.
Eligibility and Requirements:
Applicants must be currently enrolled freshmen, sophomores, juniors, seniors, and coterms who are undergraduates in all majors, including undeclared.
Applicants must be current Stanford students during the internship period. Seniors must postpone graduation paperwork until the internship ends, but may participate in commencement. For summer graduation requirements, including details regarding enrollment requirements and information about participation in the June commencement ceremonies, students should contact their major department's student services office and Registrar's Office for graduation quarter petition.
Interns must commit to the internship for 8 weeks.
Preferably, before beginning their internships, selected candidates should have taken at least one course regarding the internship region. The course can be taken in the spring quarter.
