About the company: Ten Senses Africa was established in 2008 as the world’s first fair trade certified macadamia nut company. TSA is a social enterprise, working directly with nearly 30,000 smallholder farmers to produce and export organic and fair trade macadamia and cashew nuts from Kenya and to propagate one million cashew and macadamia seedlings. We have nearly 600 staff.
Project Description: Ten Senses Africa is looking for several operations interns who will assist with the following: 1. operational transition to a larger, more complex EPZ facility of 69,000 square feet and scaling up new product area, e.g. oil and briquettes, which are biproducts from macadamia 2. upgrading our out-growers management system (mobile purchasing system) to one that has block chain technology 3. automation and scaling up of processing of macadamia from four containers to 10 containers a month 4. fine-tuning our out-growers process of agronomic extension work, purchasing, and propagation of one million cashew & macadamia seedlings 5. Fine tuning our approach to the local retail market and scaling it internationally
