The Study of Women in Asia Fellowship supports one to two graduate students from any discipline whose research concerns women in Asia, broadly defined. This award provides three quarters of TGR tuition plus three quarters of stipend at $6,000.
Stanford graduate students in any discipline conducting research on topics concerning women in Asia are eligible to apply.
The fellowship may be used to support graduate coursework*, research on campus or abroad, or dissertation write-up.
Applicants may be U.S. citizens or international students.
Priority given to CEAS M.A. students.
*Tuition only up to the TGR rate will be granted – students taking graduate coursework that will apply towards their degree will need to make up the difference in tuition rates on their own.

Eligibility and Requirements:
Open to currently-registered Stanford graduate students in any school.
To apply, complete the online application form including:
1. Upload of Statement of Purpose. Maximum 2 pages single spaced, describing your proposed activity, including logistics of travel, simple budget, and benefit to your course of study. Be specific about the courses you plan to enroll in if you are proposing to study at Stanford. If you are proposing to conduct research or study outside of Stanford please describe the nature of your work and any applicable program or tuition costs. For dissertation write-up, please include a description of the precise topic you are writing on and expected completion date.
2. Upload Current Unofficial Transcript
3. Request Recommendation Letter. Request one letter from your primary advisor or other faculty member with close knowledge of your interests and abilities via the online system.
