SOLO for Stanford Staff

SOLO is a joint endeavor initiated by the Office of International Affairs, under the Vice Provost and Dean of Research and with the collaboration of the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies, Haas Center for Public Service, Global Engineering Programs and Stanford Global Studies. We wanted to make it easier for Stanford students to learn about the numerous opportunities that are available to them to gain Stanford international academic experiences off campus. In other words, instead of making students shop all over campus for opportunities they might be eligible for, we make them available to students in one place.

For Stanford staff, SOLO provides many of the functionalities that they would otherwise typically have to build on their own such as advertising the opportunities, creating application forms for students to apply, managing the award process for the opportunities, etc.

Soon, SOLO will also provide a way for staff to create travel steps so students can get the most benefit out of their Stanford off-campus learning experiences by being better prepared for those trips.

Soon, SOLO will also offer reporting capabilities.

SOLO provides much more than the functionalities described above. SOLO has become a community of staff members who understand each others' work and work together on building the tools that enable them to collaborate with each other and be strategic about the opportunities that the university makes available to students.

If you are a Stanford staff member interested in learning more, please email Pauline Larmaraud at PLARM@stanford.edu with your questions.
