About the company: Named after the former Millennium Goals, we are a real estate development and services company specializing in eco-construction, with a main focus on affordable ecological housing and green buildings. We also manufacture structural materials (such as earth-blocks) and work to produce more sustainable innovative materials and green solutions.
Project Description: We have designed a housing program that consists of affordable green homes for the middle income population. These houses are designed after the EDGE standard, a global green standard set by IFC (a company of World Bank Group). There are six models of little houses made of local structural materials that we manufacture (stabilized earth-blocks); each features insulated and green solutions - making them ecological, with an enhanced comfort and reduced final utilities bills. They are due to be built on customers’ lands and could be customized without withdrawing the advantage of mass construction. We have designed them to allow fast implementation. In this respect we need to conduct some re-engineering to improve operation processes, by developing "kits," for example, including improved logistics that will enable us to build several hundreds of units a year (sort of industrial production), and franchise the whole system (even outside our home country). An intern could help us with this task.
