Stanford Seed is looking for summer 2019 interns to conduct research on how Seed’s small and medium enterprises impact customers, employees, suppliers and distributors, local communities, and the planet. Teams will be comprised of students with qualitative and quantitative research backgrounds. Students will be based in Accra Ghana, Nairobi Kenya or Chennai India. They will study 2-3 companies over an 8-10 week period. Research will involve conducting value chain impact assessment studies and interviewing employees, suppliers and customers on how the Seed enterprise has impacted them. Students will be trained at Stanford on research methods to use for this project. Ideal students are in business, economics and social sciences. Undergraduate or graduate students welcome to apply.
*Note: this research-focused opportunity is different from other Seed internship offerings. Action research interns will conduct research on Seed’s behalf to help us identify the impact of Seed enterprises on the broader community.
