2024 Kaohsiung Medical University Chung-Ho Memorial Hospital (KMUH)
Host Organization: Kaohsiung Medical University Chung-Ho Memorial Hospital
Website: http://www.kmuh.org.tw/
Organization Profile: Kaohsiung Medical University Chung-Ho Memorial Hospital (KMUH) was established in 1957. In 1978, in the first hospital accreditation program implemented by the Taiwanese Government, KMUH was accredited by the Ministry of Education and the Department of Health as a “Class One Teaching Hospital,” and has maintained the status of a teaching medical center since then. KMUH was certified by the Ministry of Finance as a “Good Accounting Records Hospital” in 1979. Under stable management and operation, there has always been an annual net balance in income from medical services, and this surplus is used for investment in KMUH's development. KMUH is continuously upgrading our facilities by purchasing advanced clinical instruments, as well as expanding the hospital buildings. The fifth phase of construction was completed in 2003, and with this new building KMUH has over 1700 beds, and it is one of the most important medical institutions in Taiwan. Aside from improving the environment, KMUH has put efforts into enhancing medical quality and patient safety. In 2016, we passed the International Hospital accreditation to become the first JCI qualified medical center in southern Taiwan.
In 1998, KMUH won a bid from the Kaohsiung City Government for the management of Kaohsiung Municipal Hsiao-Kang Hospital (KMHK). In 2010, KMUH won a bid from the city government for the management of Kaohsiung Municipal Ta-Tung Hospital (KMTTH). In 2014, KMUH won a bid from the city government for the management of Kaohsiung Municipal CIJIN Hospital (KMCH). Furthermore, the Ministry of Health and Welfare has approved KMUH’s plan to establish Kaohsiung Medical University Gangshan Hospital in February 2015. With these regional hospitals, KMUH has formed a healthcare system encompassing around 3,200 beds.
KMUH's missions are education, research and providing medical service. These three missions are equally important to us. The hospital has been established for 66 years, and it is the cumulative achievement of the many people who have worked hard over the years. All the members of this hospital take pride in improving the quality of service, creating value, and satisfying the need of the patients and customers.
