The Cantor Arts Center invites applications from PhD students in the Graduate School of Education for part-time Museum Educator positions for the 2026–2027 academic year. This opportunity is ideal for doctoral students with interests in arts education, informal learning environments, and community engagement. Museum Educators will play an integral role in designing and facilitating engaging educational experiences for PK–12 students and school groups, working closely with museum staff to translate educational theory into meaningful gallery-based practice.
In this role, you will develop and lead interactive programs, tours, and workshops that foster inquiry-based learning for diverse audiences. You will collaborate on curriculum development aligned with museum exhibitions and educational standards, incorporating research-informed pedagogical strategies to create accessible and engaging learning experiences. Additional responsibilities include contributing to the evaluation and assessment of educational initiatives, supporting continuous program improvement, and participating in ongoing training and professional development opportunities

Eligibility and Requirements:
You must be current PhD student in the Graduate School of Education
You must have a strong interest in informal education, museum studies, arts education
Experience teaching or working with diverse learners is preferred
Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to varied learning environments
Time Commitment and Compensation
This is a part-time opportunity offering approximately 2- 8 hours per week during the academic year depending on program needs.
Museum educators are expected to be available on the museum’s public days (Mondays, Thursdays, and/or Fridays) throughout the academic year to facilitate engaging, inquiry-based experiences for K–12 student groups in the galleries. When school groups are not scheduled, educators will participate in professional training and collaborate on the development and refinement of learner-centered gallery experiences.
The hourly rate for Museum Educators is $45.00.
