Mel Lane Student Grants Program

The Stanford Woods Institute for the Environment invites Stanford students to submit proposals for Mel Lane funding for student-driven projects that make a measureable impact on an environmental issue through action (including education activities) or closely linked applied research.  Projects to support thesis, dissertation research or other academic requirements are ineligible for Mel Lane funds.

The Mel Lane program supports projects proposed by teams of students, and the Stanford Woods Institute will offer two short leadership workshops in January 2019 to the project teams awarded grants.
