SCPKU Summer Seminar: Empowering a Future-Ready World: Exploring AI and Generative Models
Program Overview: The Stanford Center at Peking University (SCPKU) offers Stanford students a special opportunity for short-term study in Beijing. These three-week seminars are taught by Stanford faculty representing disciplines and schools spanning the entire campus and are specifically designed to integrate course content and program location.
Program Dates: Aug 4 to Aug 22, Summer 2025
Seminar Details: This three-week, hands-on seminar, "Empowering a Future-Ready World: Exploring AI and Generative Models," brings together interdisciplinary teams of PKU and Stanford students for an immersive dive into the evolving Chinese medical system, exploring how AI will improve medicine and healthcare delivery. Designed in a hackathon-style, project-based learning format, this course will help students master AI prompting skills as they practice with multi-modal Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI Agents — no prior coding experience necessary. Planned site visits with a local hospital and startup will be incorporated. Over three weeks, students will also gain a foundation in design thinking and lean launch principles, using AI to rapidly test new ideas, incorporate user feedback, and design sustainable digital products or services for unmet needs.
If you're curious about the intersection of AI, healthcare, innovation, and entrepreneurship, this seminar offers a unique international opportunity to see where AI may take us in healthcare.
