We are conducting a scoping review study on why people avoid or delay seeking emergency care in the United States and are seeking a research assistant to start in November.
Responsibilities include: conducting a literature review; assisting with article screening and data extraction; managing and organizing the reference library; participating in team meetings. At discretion, students may be able to participate in additional tasks, such as data synthesis, analysis, and study dissemination. The research and team meetings will be conducted virtually/remotely.
Students can sign up for 1-3 units of course credit per quarter beginning in the winter. While the position is otherwise unpaid, students can expect to receive research and career mentorship alongside valuable experience in reading and analyzing academic literature.
No prior experience in research is required. However, the ideal candidate is motivated, organized with attention to detail, reliable and communicative, and can commit the time and effort needed as part of the study team. Interest in health equity, health services research, or medicine is a plus. This is a good fit for those interested in evidence synthesis and learning how to use systematic and scoping review software.
To apply, please submit your resume/CV and a brief statement of interest.
