Sustainable Stanford Ambassador Program (AY 25-26)
Program Overview:
The Sustainable Stanford Ambassador Program is a leadership program to empower and inspire students to foster a culture of sustainability across Stanford’s campus. Ambassadors serve as mentors, role models, and advocates, empowering their peers to explore academic, operational, and personal pathways to sustainability. As part of a dedicated cohort, ambassadors amplify their collective impact by engaging the campus community and fostering a culture of sustainability that advances Stanford’s sustainability goals and enriches the university community.
This program is a key part of Stanford’s mission to ensure every student graduates with a deep understanding of sustainability’s relevance to global systems and its application to personal and professional lives.
- Offer guidance through office hours, tabling events, and peer consultations to connect students with sustainability opportunities.
- Active demonstrate sustainability practices and engage with the campus community through visible actions such as waste sorting or participation in sustainability events.
- Organize outreach initiatives, from residence hall presentations to social media campaigns, to raise awareness of sustainability programs and initiatives.
- Highlight academic programs, workshops, research opportunities, career events, and campus initiatives like energy conservation and waste reduction.
- Ambassadors are expected to work 3 – 5 hours per week during the 2025-2026 academic year (September to June)
