This course on the evolving Chinese medical system explores how AI will improve healthcare delivery. Students will gain a foundation in design thinking and lean launch principles, using AI to rapidly test new ideas, incorporate user feedback, and design sustainable digital products.
Examine China’s healthcare system with a focus on rural eye health. Topics include healthcare policy, NGO roles, TCM integration, and vision care funding. Includes case studies on government-NGO partnerships and visiting the Lifeline Express surgical train.
Study the geophysics of icy moons and ocean worlds like Europa and Titan. Learn methods for detecting subsurface oceans, analyzing geophysical data, and assessing habitability. Includes guest talks, research presentations, and tours of China’s space agencies.
Join Stanford peers and Chinese top students in Beijing for a three-week seminar investigating the expanding role of AI in public health and population health management, gaining hands-on experience through case studies and field trips around China.
SIW operates during Fall, Winter and Spring Quarters. We offer students individualized placement in a substantive full-time internship matched to their particular interests and goals. Students attend courses taught by local experts and cultural events throughout Washington, D.C.
