The basic goal of the Chavín program is to give Stanford students field training in a broad range of archaeological research methodologies. Within New World archaeology, Chavín is one of the most iconic sites.
This student research opportunity involves analysis of excavation data from archaeological sites in the Yellow River Valley of northern China dating to the Shang Dynasty (ca. 1600 to 1050 BCE).
The field experiene is led by Archaeology Center's Krish Seetah. The fieldwork will be held close to Dubrovnik & Venice. The fieldwork will be undertaken at 2 sites.
