About the company: Farm Harvest produces, packages, and distributes high-quality sweet corn throughout India through contracted farmers and a network of microentrepreneurs, who sell the corn through franchised kiosks.
Project Description: Enabling a microentrepreneur requires finding a potential candidate (via a livelihood NGO for instance), finding a source of funds for the kiosks (via microfinance or corporate social programs, etc.) and finding a suitable location for the microentrepreneur to operate (e.g. in a commercial mall or public government approved space). One of our transformed company goals is to create social impact among more than 5,000 microentrepreneurs in all major states. Today we have enabled 200 microentrepreneurs through vending kiosks as a business model. How do we bridge the gap? One avenue is to create a platform/community that brings all stakeholders together and facilitates the matching of candidates via livelihood NGOs with sources of funds and Farm Harvest. We require an intern to help with the strategic and design thinking to make bridging the gap possible. We expect him/her to research suitable business partners and to facilitate design thinking among all stakeholders and deliver a mock up platform business model that we can take forward and execute.
