2026 Education Partnerships Fellowship (Menlo-Atherton High School)
The Education Partnerships Program at the Haas Center for Public Service is seeking six undergraduates to join our EdP Fellowship summer cohort, which focuses on mitigating summer learning loss in partnership with Menlo-Atherton High School. This is a stipend-based program that averages 35 hours per week over 9.5 weeks.
The Education Partnerships (EdP) program promotes educational equity in our local communities by engaging Stanford students and community youth in tutoring, mentoring, and education-focused partnerships. We believe that to make a lasting impact, we must work across the education ecosystem—from direct service with youth to collaboration with schools, nonprofits, policymakers, and philanthropists.
The EdP Summer Fellows Cohort will meet weekly to explore the intersectional nature of education—how different fields overlap and become more powerful when collaboration systems are in place. The fellowship offers professional development in youth development, leadership, facilitation, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and teaching.
Program Description*
During Summer 2026, we will hire up to 6 fellows to work with the Menlo-Atherton High School (M-A) Compass Summer Program and Academic Year Kick-off. Note there are two schedule options with the greatest need for the Split Schedule.
Menlo-Atherton High School: The Menlo-Atherton Summer COMPASS Program is a 17-day (4 week) transition initiative designed to prepare incoming 9th graders for success in high school. The program emphasizes academic readiness and social integration, connecting students with peers and essential campus resources. Participants engage in literacy workshops, study-skills development, physical education, and leadership activities. By completing the program, students satisfy their summer reading requirement, adopt productive academic mindsets, and build the foundational skills necessary for a successful transition into high school.
Schedule Options: Stanford students can choose between a continuous 9.5 weeks or split summer fellowship.
-
Continuous: June 11 – August 14
After COMPASS concludes, fellows will be placed with an Out-of-School Time partner organization to support summer bridge programming. This option provides a continuous summer experience focused on strengthening transitions and sustaining support for students through the summer months. -
Split: June 11 – July 10 + August 10 – September 11
Fellows participate in two distinct blocks. They will support COMPASS during the summer and then return in August to support Menlo-Atherton High School during the critical first weeks of the school year. This option offers a unique opportunity for meaningful impact. Historically, Menlo-Atherton and other community-based organizations have faced challenges due to Stanford’s academic calendar. The first weeks of the school year are pivotal, and having additional adults on campus who already know and have built relationships with students over the summer provides deep continuity and support.
