Education Partnerships Fellowship
A summer fellowship through the Education Partnerships Program at the Haas Center for Public Service that engages Stanford undergraduates in full-time, community-based work to address summer learning loss, support youth development, and advance educational equity.
The Education Partnerships Program at the Haas Center for Public Service offers a summer fellowship for Stanford University undergraduates focused on mitigating summer learning loss and advancing educational equity through community-engaged partnerships. Fellows work fulltime for approximately 10 weeks and receive an $8,000 stipend to support living and transportation expenses.
Education Partnerships promotes equitable educational opportunity in local communities by engaging Stanford students and youth in tutoring, mentoring, and collaborative education initiatives. The program combines hands-on work with youth and collaboration across schools, libraries, nonprofits, families, and other community groups to create lasting impact in education.
Throughout the fellowship, students participate in a weekly cohort experience designed to explore the interconnected nature of education and the ways cross-disciplinary collaboration strengthens outcomes for young people. Fellows engage in structured professional development focused on youth development, leadership, facilitation, teaching and learning, and collaborative practice in community settings. Regular reflection and discussion create space to examine challenges, share successes, and deepen understanding of ethical and effective service.
Preparation for the summer begins in Spring Quarter and includes orientation activities, required training, completion of service preparation requirements, development of an individual learning plan, and connection with an on-campus mentor. During the summer, fellows complete program reports and evaluations and remain in communication with program staff and supporters. In Fall Quarter, fellows continue mentorship, participate in reflection, and contribute to outreach that shares learning with the broader campus community.
Summer placements take place with local community partners, including San Mateo County Libraries and Menlo-Atherton High School, where fellows support youth learning, relationship-building, and educational transition experiences through direct service and collaboration with site staff. Across placements, fellows contribute to programming that strengthens students’ academic confidence, sense of belonging, and readiness for future learning.
Applicants must be enrolled Stanford undergraduates in good academic standing during Winter and Spring Quarters.
