Cardinal Careers Community Impact Fellowship
Through the Cardinal Careers Community Impact Fellowship, graduating seniors and coterms work in full-time 12-month paid positions in nonprofit organizations and government agencies in the San Francisco Bay Area, with occasional placements in other cities throughout the United States. Fellows are paid a stipend plus health insurance coverage as needed.
The 2025-26 Community Impact partner organizations will submit job description for students to review, and applicants are encouraged to select several organizations to maximize their chance for securing a Community Impact position. Partner organizations review finalist applications, arrange interviews, and make final hiring decisions. Please note that Haas Center staff does not necessarily have direct experience with, nor do we professionally endorse, partner organizations.
To be eligible for a Community Impact fellowship, you must be a current graduating senior or co-term at Stanford. Applicants are encouraged from any major field of study and from a wide variety of service pathways.
Community Impact fellows commit to the following program requirements:
- Attend the pre-fellowship orientation session on May 27
- Complete a workshop on the Principles of Ethical and Effective Public Service
- Participate in regional professional development sessions throughout the year
- Participate in quarterly conversation with the Community Impact Fellowship coordinator to evaluate individual experiences, make program recommendations, and provide advice to incoming fellows
- Provide the program with a year-end report detailing the fellowship experience and activities
